Per MCA, now, every Director of company whether private, public or listed company who has been allotted DIN on or before 31st March, 2018 and whose DIN has ‘Approved’ status, would be mandatorily required to file form DIR-3 KYC on or before 31st August, 2018.
Till now, MCA has specified that Unique Personal Mobile Number and Personal Email ID would have to be mandatorily indicated and would be duly verified by One Time Password (OTP). All such information will be updated annually which will have to be certified by the Company Secretary and Chartered Accountant in practice at the time of filing of e-form with MCA. Beside this, there is no explanation on mandatory attachments such as PAN, passport and Aadhaar Card on e-form.
This will be another effort not only to crack down on shell companies but also disqualified directors. No doubt, it will increase the compliance burden of directors.
